Biographical / Historical

Arthur Dunning Eddy was a prominent Saginaw lumberman who was born in Ottawa, Ontario in 1861. He moved with his family to Saginaw in 1865. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1882 and started working for his father, Charles K. Eddy in his lumber firm, C.K. Eddy & Sons. He started the Saginaw Milling Co., a flour business, was a vice president of the Consolidated Coal Co., vice president of Second National Bank, and a director of the Saginaw Board of Trade. He was also a leader ofthe patrioticand welfare campaigns during World War 1. He was the chairman of the Saginaw County War Board and the first president of the Saginaw Welfare League.
