Ms. Calkins was attending Elmira College in the mid 1860’s. Alfred B. Wood was born in Nowalk, CT in 1819 he moved to Saginaw, Michigan and engaged in the drug business. In 1869, he was elected to the Michigan State Senate and also held the position of city treasure. Despondent of the deaths family and friends he committed suicide in April 1894.
