Hi Ila,
Now are you and the rest of your family feeling these fine spring days? I don’t feel to bad but I sure wish I was at home, and I think Bud feels the same. All we have been doing is work and more work. Boy I’ve just about had my fill of the Army too. I don’t know how any man can stay in the Army for twenty years. I think I would go crazy if I had to stay in over two years. The only thing that is messing up our getting out of the Army sooner is the Korean war. If that was over with, we could probably get out in a year. Gee whiz but I’ll bet it is nice back home now. Out here it is so doggone hot, and to top it off they make a guy do a lot of Physical Excercises, and we do some marching also. Boy I don’t think I’ve ever sweat so much in my whole life. Well so much about me, how is everything going on the farm, have you planted all your crops yet? I’ll bet you all miss having Bud home. I guess he would like to get out as much as I do. This is no life for us. I’m going to come down and see what your farm looks like when I get out of the Army if you all don’t care too much. I don’t know I would ever do without Bud I guess we get along better than any of the guys around here. Well so much for now I’ll see you in my next letter. Give my Love to all the family.
Love Bob
