Hi Ila,

How is my best girlfriend feeling today? I hope you feel alright. We are having a pretty rough time. For the last two days now, we’ve been in the center of one heck of a storm. The ship is shaking just like a leaf that lands on a puddle of water. A lot of guys strap themselves in at night so they won’t fall out of their bunks. We ran out of straps down where we are, so I got a piece of chain holding me in. I’ll be glad when we get off of this floating deathtrap. I see Buddy every day. At first I thought we would be split up. Because he left two days before I did. I traveled with B Company. But we’ll go back to Headquarters Company when we get there. Right now we are off the coast of England, somewhere. We saw a fishing boat the other day, what country it was from I probably will never know. The sailors can keep this sort of life. I can see it isn’t for me. I like the feel of gold old mother earth too much. How is everything going on the farm nowadays? I hope you all have a good crop this year. Boy what I wouldn’t give to be home right now. I’ll bet it is real nice out now. Say Ila how are all the boys treating you? You just let me know if anybody bothers you. I’ll talk to them when I get home. Boy you should feel the ship rock right now, it makes your stomach come right up into your mouth. I think the weather is getting worse all the time. The waves must be over 15 to 20 feet high, because they come right over the rail. Well so much for our trip. Please don’t forget to write. Give my love to all. God Bless You and goodnight.

All my Love, Bob
