Dearest Ila,

How are you today? Alright I hope. I would have wrote sooner, but I was pretty busy. Tonight is the first night, I’ve had off for five days. It seems nice just to be able to lay around, doing nothing. I suppose it is pretty cold down there now, huh honey? It won’t be too long before it snows, then the long dreary winter begins. I hate to see it come over here, because it’s always way below zero around here, that’s what they tell me anyway. We are situated in a small valley, with large mountains on all sides. Right now the wind is really starting to howl. We have had a heavy frost every night. It seems to cut right through a person. I suppose you have all the crops out of the field already? All the farmers over here have everything done already. So much for that. How are you doing anyway? Still have all the boys going in circles? Don’t worry I promise you a very interesting time when we go out. I still hope you won’t forget your promise to go out with me. That is if I’m ever able to get out of the Army. Right now I’m next page There are a lot of women here, but I don’t know just what it is they lack, but no kidding they don’t interest me at all. They are built on more solid lines then the girls back home. Here they weigh on the average of 140 pounds, they believe in making women work over here. A women doesn’t get the respect here that they do back home. Then they say that Europe is the home of Chivalry. What a bunch of bunk that is. Well Honey this is all I can think of for now. But will write again this week, when I get the chance. God Bless You and Goodnight.

With my Deepest Love, Bob

P.S. Please don’t forget too write (Pretty please.)
