Hi Sweetheart,

Gee I’m awfully sorry I haven’t wrote any sooner, but I’ll try to do better, no kidding Sweetheart, I mean it. There just isn’t to much to write about anymore. The only thing that worries me the most, right now, is the fact that they won’t tell me when we are to go home. It’s just like the Army though, they let a person know a heck of a lot sooner when he is to be inducted, but then when your time is up they let you sweat it out. Oh yes, I went fishing this morning and I caught exactly one big Zero. Pretty good luck huh? Oh well I’ll be able to do a lot of fishing and hunting when I get home. (If I ever get there.) Gee it seems like that’s all a guy can think of right now is HOME. What a nice word. It sounds nearly as nice as the name Ila. Gee Honey I just can’t wait to see You. I hope you haven’t changed your mind about me. Have you? I see Duane every day, and we are in the same barracks. He sleeps about two rooms from me. He is a hang of a nice guy too. They don’t come any better. I guess Duane has to be nice in order to be your brother. (Ahem) How do you like school now? It must see rather dull, after having the summer all to yourself? Doggone it, I just finished washing my hair a little while ago and it keeps falling down over my eyes. Just like a pile of hay. Gee you know before I came into the Army I never wore a hat, but in the Army a guy has to do it, so my hair is dry as hang. Boy I must be writing a dead letter, but I’m awfully sorry Honey, there just isn’t too much to say. I want you to know that I Love You with all my heart and hope you still feel the same about me. Do you? I hope so anyway. Just think Honey in about another four or five weeks I’ll be home. Even if I know, I wouldn’t tell you, because I want to surprise you. Goodnight my Dearest, and Sweet dreams. I Love You.

With All my Love, Bob.

P.S. Keep those nice soft lips in shape, because they are going to have a workout.
