Hi Doll,
Lovely letter from you this evening. Did a wonderful job of brightening up an otherwise lousy day. Seems as though all the days lately have been poor but I guess it’s just because I’ve got only a short time to go and am getting sick of this place.
Doggonit all. When I say that you are undoubtedly a sweet young lady why I mean that you are undoubtedly a sweet young lady. You no doubt will gate me for this but I honestly had to smile when you said you’d tried to grow up too fast and all it caused you was heartbreak. It sounds quite worldly but I’m sure at 18 you’ll manage to pull yourself together and take up the threads of life again. Please forgive me if I sound rather sarcastic but I’m sure that a cute looking thing as you won’t have trouble finding others. One thing, the above is supposed to sound comical not serious so don’t sit down and start bawling.
Tell you what. If I go to Japan next month as I hope to, I’ll try my doggonedest to send you some kind of souvenir. Rather hard to do from ere because everything has to be declared which is bad enough, but there also is nothing to box things in. But if I go to Japan I’ll do my best. Must say, though, that you’re a sucker to ask me if there’s anything I’d want from there. You guess.
You bet you own me some pictures and I sure am waiting for ‘em. Getting kinda itchy.
Much Love,
Frank
