Hi Doll,
Nice letter from you last nite, so with a free man (myself) and a minute I’ll scribble a few sounds as though you’re on a sort of vacation whirl what with running and scouting all over the place. All that swimming and sunbathing has me jealous, but I imagine I’ll be getting my licks in before too long. I really hate missing the romance part, though. Not that it probably means too much to you, but after being here for a year I’d give my left arm for just a kiss. Gotta save my right arm for writing, though.
You mentioned something about my probably not even missing your letters. If I hadn’t been brought up to treat ladies with respect I’d probably break your arm. Never heard such nonsense in all my life. Ussing a direct order which reads in past “—or it’s a courts-martial offense for failing to correspond.”
I will try to send some pictures as soon as I get them back from Japan, but in the meantime don’t let that stop you. Your facilities for getting pictures developed are probably more easily available than mine so or sure send some in your next writing. And quit saying “if they turn out good.” If I had your looks I certainly wouldn’t worry about how they look.
Went to the dentist this afternoon to have a tooth filled and it was quite an experience. Besides having to work with rather crude stuff the doctor was definitely overworked. The drill he used was operated by a foot treadle and another guy had to stand with a flashlight practically crammed down my throat so the doc could see my tooth. Doc did a good job, though, and the tooth feels good this eve.
For some reason the romantic feeling has persisted all evening. Can’t explain it but I guess I just must be in love. Considering I haven’t seen any women for a long, long time it must just be I’m in love with all women.
Write soon, huh Doll? + don’t forget those pictures!
Love,
Frank
