Hi, you lovely little doll,
A letter from you this evening, which was a great help to my morale. I hope you notice that there is an E on the end of morale. You spoke of my morals in the letter but that is an entirely different subject alltogether. You check the dictionary and I’m sure you will find quite a difference between morale and moral. My morale is quite high and my morals are even higher considering the circumstances.
At present I don’t have any pictures of myself with my dark-rimmed specs on, but I expect some back in a few days from Japan and when they arrive I’ll be sure and send you one to fail a young maiden in distress. Especially one as cute as you. In the meantime, I’ll expect a bunch of pictures of you /only/.
Spent the evening in the messhall imbibing in what amounted to a case of beer. First time since here we’ve been able to get as much and I really went nuts. Tasted terrific. Never asked you whether you approved of such stuff, or not, do you?
You asked me quote “P.S. Please don’t forget to write?” Now, will you just tell me how I could forget to write you? Everyone in a while you know, I have to open my wallet to get out various papers and right on top, in the photographure section, is the picture of a young doll from Michigan, reclining luxoriously on a blanket. Of course that can only be one person and it is a reminder enough of one to write. I do!
By the way, you asked me what I would request in the way of a present if I did manage to reach Chesaning, Mich. sometime. What would you say if I asked for a kiss? Sounds good, to me.
Love,
Frankie
