Hi Doll,
No, I probably won’t give an arm for the privilege of a kiss, but I do feel that way, especially after 13 months over here.
Only good suggestion I can give for not going to the dentist is either a bullet through the left temple or a knife thru the heart. Both are relatively quick and simple ways with much less pain than the dentist. However, I’ll leave the choice entirely up to you.
If you really want to write me after I get home you know dad-burned well I’ll be more than glad to answer. It probably isn’t necessary to say that you’ve been more than instrumental in keeping my morale up this past year and I appreciate it very much.
17 men went home yesterday and we had quite a celebration before they left. I had a fifth of scotch in my possession that added immeasurably to the good time and I’d say everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves, at least I know I did. Even better, with those 17 gone it puts me 3rd on the list to leave here. Should be gone within 3 weeks, I hope. That’ll be a rather bright day around here.
Had another field problem yesterday that was a lulu . I’m the old timer left in FDC and I really had to bust my hump to keep up with the work. Really had to congratulate myself on doing a good job, though. From the time the convoy crossed the release point until the fire was on the ground at 10600 yards, 12 minutes + 15 sec. had passed. That was excellent time considering all the work that had to be done.
Command inspection coming off tomorrow that should kill everybody. Will be the usual dress parade, if you can call fatigues dress, and then an inspection of all vehicles, gun, and bunker installations.
Think I’ll hide somewhere.
Much Love,
Frankie
