Dear Ila,
First of all I will say I am sorry for not answer your letter yesterday 18 of May.
It just like a girl to go shopping and stay all day and then go back to the first store and get what she want. I suppose you haft to look around and get the best for your money these day’s.
You won’t get this letter by the 21st of May, but I still hope you have a good time at the formal.
I still haven’t a picture of any kind to send you but when I get some I will send you a few. I sent most of my thing home before we started writing each other.
No, I am not going with any girl in Ohio. Sure I like girl’s but that doesn’t mean you haft to go steady with them. Beside when I get a girl I want one and only one.
My home town is about 120 miles from Cleveland. I don’t know when I will get up to Mich., but when I do I will look you up.
Do you have a phone if so maybe I will be able to call you up when I get home. I don’t think I will be able to come get to Mich., on my first time home in allmost 17 month, but maybe I will be able to call.
There not too much going on here in Korea these day’s, (not for me anyway)
The only date I know of when or about June the 10, when I will start for the states but now there a few men that are leaving in a few day’s. I was in Japan before them and then came to Korea with them.
It hard to tell what or where the army will send me. I might stay in the states a few month and then maybe they will send me to Europe. If they send me to Europe, I want to go to France. But it all up to the army.
I will let you know in the next letter if I can find someone to write your girl friend.
Don’t forget if you want something from me you ask yourself other wise I will get mad.
Well I can’t think of much more to say so I will close till I here from you.
Love,
ART
