Sept. 26, 1954

Dear Ila,

Well how everything with my best girl these day’s. Fine I hope. How are you doing in school, is the teacher still giveing you a hard time?

Well I might get a 3 day pass this week but I won’t be able to get home do I might go to Denver for a few day’s.

They have the team I’m in cutting tree down to make pole for this line we are putting up. I just hope we go back to Ft. Carson, like we are suppose too. I haven’t did anything but lay in bed all day except what time I went to eat. These weekend go by so slow that I think it a week by it self. When we are out in the fild it go by fast. This month is about gone I bet your glad. Just a little over 8 month and you well be out of school. How the weather back there in Michigan now day. They say it well snow up here in the mountain in Oct.. How Jack doing now day’s. Tell him hello for me when you see him. Well it about time to eat so I will write sometime later. Well all they had to eat was bean. I just got cleand up so I will finish this letter and go to bed because when you haft to get up at 4 o’clock it come around early. I’ll bet your glad you don’t haft to get up at 4 o’clock. See if you join the woman airforce or what every it was you might haft to get up that early. So if you like to sleep stay out! Well honey I can’t think of much more to say so I will close til I here from you again. Be good and take care of yourself.
