Dear Ila,

I recived you letter least night and it good to hear from. How the weather up there in Michigan now day’s. Today I was working in ice cold snow up in the mountains. It wasn’t very much. Tonight gave us all of our winter cloth thing. So school is getting ruff. It isn’t that bad now is it? Just think when you get out of school how ruff thing can be. From what I heard about my home town football team they not going to do any good. They lost the first game. I don’t know what the score was. I like my home town but there not anything there. Coal mine and steel mill. One thing I will not do is go in a coal mine. How do you like work at the Greenhouse now day’s. Myself I don’t think I would like that kind of work. I’ll be looking for that package you say your going to send. I think after 3 years of Home Ec, you can do something. But if you want me to keep it a secret about your cooking, I will. Just between you and myself. This camp I’m in now is bad. They only have show about 2 or 3 time a week. I haven’t been to a show for about 2 ½ to 3 week and as long as I’m at this camp I won’t go either. This isn’t a very good place but I like it better then Ft. Leonard Wood. I won’t let any of the girl around here put anything over on me. I’ll tell them they haft to fight you. O’K? Don’t let the old “Hag”, in school give you a ruff time. When you finish school you can tell her off. Won’t you be glad? As for the “D” in English. It isn’t to be bad just think it could be a “F.” I will think Cleveland will take the pennent this year. It about time somebody beside New York is takeing [?] Well honey it just about time for the light to go out. As much as I hate to I going to haft to close. I will write when I get some more time. We are suppose to get a 3 day’s pass this week I will have some time to write then and I will. I also want to go to town I’ll write you before I go. Well honey be good and take care of yourself. About your part in the school play I think you get a part in it. Let me know if you do.
