Dear Ila,

How everything with my best girl these day’s fine I hope. Are you still given the teacher in school a hard time. No, you haven’t told me about anybody from you there, any boy except that you wanted somebody to write your girl friend and you didn’t say to much about her. But that up to you if you want to talk about them. I have been doing about the same thing. We are still working on this line up in the mountain. Still get up at 4 o’clock. I don’t like it but thee not much I can do about it. I still want to know what you want from Christmas and I don’t want the answer you gave me the last time I ask you! Yes, I got my 3 day pass. I went to Denver and boy are thing high there. They wouldn’t even let me by any beer because I won’t be 21 till January. I just might try to stop drinking. Denver a nice place but you haft to have a lot of money there. You want time to fly by this year well Honey I want it to fly by to just 3 month after you finish school I will be getting out of this army. Did I say that we are getting beans for a meal if I did I must have told you lie because we get them once in a-while. I’m going to get somebody pen to put the addrest on the envelopes I can’t find mine. I have 2 or 3 around but never can fine them when I want one. I still haft to write my mother I will write her later it just about time for the light to go out. I get her letter tonight and your last night. Well I was in Denver I went the show. I paid $1.25 to get in. I glad I don’t haft to pay that much at home. I saw “The Egyptian” I hope you get a chance to see it. I though it was a good one. I hope you don’t haft to pay $1.25 to go to the show. Well honey it time for the light to go out any 4 o’clock it early so I haft to close. Most of the other boy are in bed now. So I suppose I will go to bed to. I didn’t have any trouble with any of girl down here so far. Well honey be good and take care of yourself. I will write again soon.
