Dear Ila,

How everything with my best girl these day’s as for myself just tired from getting up at 4 everyday except Sunday. I have C.Q. , again tonight. How everything in school these day’s. Is the teacher giveing you a hard time yet? There not much happening around here. We had some snow here, and it look like it might rain or snow again tonight. How the weather up there in Michigan, these day’s? Well I still have 323 day’s left in the army I hope they go by fast. You don’t have that many left before you start work everyday. That is if you go to work. Myself I don’t know for sure what I will do when I get out of the army . I will get you something for your birthday but it won’t be untill the 1st part of November, so tell what do you want? I told you once before I not much a getting anything for a girl. I still don’t know what to tell you or your girl friend about that boy in Korea, why he doesn’t write to her. If she want someone from down here to write to her, I will try and find someone. You can send her addrest. If she want someone to write her. Well it 6 o’clock here at night it 8 o’clock there. There not too much difference in the time. Well honey I can’t think of much more to say so I will close for now. Be good and take care of yourself.
