Dear Ila,

Recived your lettler tonight about 2 hour ago and it was good to hear from you too. How is everything with my best girl anyway. I well send you something as soon as I can make it too town too look around. Well it won’t be long before this year will be done for. This time next year I don’t know what I well be doing or were I going to be. I know for sure I won’t be in the army. What do you think you well be doing? I was a little lucky yesterday play card I won about $15.00 that was the first time I played in too month. I’m thinking about sending home for a camera but if I get it down here someone might want to take it. I drop a few lines to Jack about 7 day’s ago. I haven’t heard from him yet. There not too much I can tell you about the boy that going to write you girl friend. I think he a nice guy. He about my age. Once your girl friend start writing him you can ask her about him. O’K? How did Jim do when he went hunting? How the teacher in school? Are they giveing you a hard time? I alway’s gave them a hard time the same way I give these sgt., a hard time now. Well it about time to go to the field so I well haft to close for now. I started to write this lettler last night and finished it the morning of the 2.
