This series of photos was introduced as evidence during the trial brought about by John Schmelzer’s lawsuit against the Saginaw Valley Traction Company and the Bartlett Illuminating Company. They are of the properties whose value and livability were alleged to be negatively affected by the smoke produced by the power plant jointly owned by the companies. The lawsuit was filed May 12, 1905.
